VSI Group Enhances Theatrical and Home Entertainment Capabilities in Spain

VSI Group continues to invest in its owned and operated global studio facilities with the latest round of investment focused on the Spanish market. In collaboration with Dolby, VSI recently upgraded their expansive Atmos studio in Madrid to the latest standards for Dolby Atmos Theatrical and Home Entertainment.

This investment also extended to their Barcelona-based facility with the addition of a state-of-the-art Atmos Home Entertainment mixing room.

VSI Group COO Cornelia Al-Khaled shared, “As part of VSI’s strategy to focus on the high-end episodic and theatrical markets, we are proud to expand our Dolby Atmos services to another VSI territory. We continue to invest in technologies that enhance the viewers’ entertainment experience and engagement. Immersive audio, like Dolby Atmos Home Entertainment, is appropriate for the best content out there and is one of the capabilities that we are keen to provide to our customers whenever they want to give the viewers a different, captivating experience of being drawn into the space and being part of the action, whatever the media.”

VSI has a long-standing commitment to the Spanish dubbing market. They have had an established presence since 2016 and currently boast 9 recording rooms in Barcelona and Madrid. Managing Director for VSI Spain Pilar Lapena-Lazaro commented, “It’s great to see how much we have invested in upgrading the capabilities of our Barcelona and Madrid facilities over the past year and a half. I’m truly pleased with the team’s efforts and look forward to our continued growth.”

VSI Group Studio and Systems Support Director Pete Lewis added, “We knew at some point the market would be ready for Dolby, so when we built the Madrid Theatrical Atmos room a few years back, we kept this in mind. With the latest upgrades, we’ve increased the flexibility of the room ensuring our talented team can get the most out of the latest tools and workflows, which is great to now see in action. At the same time, we upgraded another of the mix rooms in Barcelona to Dolby Atmos Home Entertainment with an amazing monitoring system to match setups in other Group locations such as Madrid and London.”
